The Maneken Will Shoot the AIDS Themed Music Video
On February 21, 2012 the filming of Safe Connection video for The Maneken new song will take place.
In this new single the author and frontman Evgeny Filatov raises one of the most actual issues of contemporary Ukrainian society – the problem of HIV/AIDS among young people. The idea of writing the song was born in collaboration with Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation.
The name of the new song is Safe Connection – the same as the project run by Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation devoted to the theme of HIV/AIDS and safe sex, supported by The Coca-Cola Foundation
Just like the songs from the Soulmate Sublime album released in 2011, Safe Connection was written by Evgeny Filatov in collaboration with German producer and songwriter Charley Stadler: Yevgeny wrote the music, and Charlie – the text. The filmmakers of the video will be Denis Zakharov and Igor Tarnopolsky (producer of The Maneken and Jamala).
It will be aired on all Ukrainian music video channels in early March.

It concerns all of us, no one can remain indifferent and must do something to improve the situation. The idea to write a song about it and make our own contribution to solving this problem was born a long time ago, but it gained its concrete shape in the process of communication with Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation. And so the Safe Connection song was born».
The Maneken as a Part of Winning Team
The Maneken wrote music for Porsche Design commercial winning Golden Dolphin at Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards
Last week Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards ceremony was held in Cannes (France). One of the three Golden Dolphins went to Porsche Design commercial Form and Function directed by German director Charlie Stadler. Music and sound design for the commercial was created by Evgeniy Filatov, front man of The Maneken.
Two Hollywood stars were acting in the commercial – Billy Zane (Titanic, Cleopatra, Twin Peaks) and Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, The Full Monty, The World Is Not Enough). Thanks to their previous cooperation Charlie invited Evgeniy to write the music and create the sound design for the TV commercial. A short reminder – Charlie Stadler coproduced and wrote most of the lyrics for the latest The Maneken’s album Soulmate Sublime.
Record was released on April 2011 and was represented to the audience of Kyiv (Ukraine), Moscow (Russia) and Los Angeles, USA (during the world wide music forum MUSEXPO). Besides that The Maneken represented their new material as an opening act for Jamiroquai in Kyiv, so as on Global Gathering Festival and Kazantip Festival – 2011.
THE MANEKEN PERFORMED AT VENICE BIENNALE
On the June 2nd, 2011 on the occasion of “The Future Generation Art Prize @ Venice” exhibition opening party The Maneken entertained guests with his electronic performance. The exhibition is a project-participant of an official parallel program (Collateral Events) of the 54th La Biennale di Venezia.
There are 19 artist from 18 countries participating in ”The Future Generation Art Prize @ Venice” , all being nominees of the first international art prize.

THE MANEKEN GOES WORLDWIDE
After signing a contract with North American A&R company “Pangaea Entertainment Group – A&R Worldwide” in late February, The Maneken is becoming known all around the planet.
During the last two weeks songs “Shine” and “Hope” are being rotated on several commercial and indie radio stations in USA, New Zealand and Australia. Europe and Asia are not far ahead.
Thanks to “Passport Approved” internet radio show The Maneken can be heard in each corner of the earth. For a second week in a row The Maneken songs are hitting the chart. On March 26th “Shine” was the icebreaker leading to “Hope” on April 2nd which is the opening composition for the latest “Passport Approved”. At the moment The Maneken is one of the most notable representatives of the new world music together with bands from Australia, Ireland, France, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, UK and South Africa. On May 2nd The Maneken will play at the legendary SIR studios in Los Angeles where they are presenting their program to the top management of the world showbiz. SIR Studios in LA was and is a launching panel for many known bands and it’s home for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snoop Dogg, Katy Perry, Green Day, No Doubt, Maroon 5, Mariah Carey etc.
The Maneken is an outstanding artist working in one of the most trendy music directions – electronic rock. Using musical styles as an “outfit” for creation of his music ideas he made several unique “collections” which have found their fans not only in former CIS countries, but also in Europe and United States. Today his compositions are wonderful combination of modern dance music and the broad of pop-rock culture heritage of the last decades from Air, Coldplay and Keane to The XX and Empire of the Sun.
